The Official Name of the Brooklyn Bridge

NYC-Walks-Blog-48a-The-Great-Bridge-5147xDg6JL._SX311_BO1204203200_

Originally referred to as the New York and Brooklyn Bridge and as the East River Bridge, it was dubbed the Brooklyn Bridge, a name from an earlier January 25, 1867, letter to the editor of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, and formally so named by the city government in 1915 when it took over direct operation of the bridge. I wonder if the politicians will dare to rename the Brooklyn Bridge after a politician as they have done with so many other bridges, tunnels, and highways of New York City.
